Our Story
In 1989, stained-glass artisans Chris and Terry Mullen stood behind their booth at yet another poorly run craft fair. Advertising was minimal, attendance was low, and the care and creativity of the artisans were lost in the chaos. Frustrated, they looked at each other and said, “We can do this better.”
That moment sparked the beginning of Castleberry Fairs.
Originally known as Castleberry Glass, their small stained-glass business became the foundation for something larger: a family-run enterprise built by artisans, for artisans. Chris and Terry understood firsthand the challenges makers faced — finding well-organized shows, reaching the right audience, and being part of a community that truly valued handmade work.
Determined to raise the standard, they focused on strong locations, clear communication, and meaningful promotion. Their commitment to quality, consistency, and care quickly earned the trust of both artisans and shoppers. Word spread, and Castleberry Fairs grew.
Over the years, the journey hasn’t been without challenges. Weather, changing regulations, injuries, and the rise of fly-by-night promoters offering mass-produced imports tested the handmade community. Through it all, Castleberry Fairs remained unwavering in its promise: to support true craftsmanship and the people behind it.
Some events grew so large that venues could no longer accommodate the crowds — and rather than compromise, Castleberry moved on, always seeking new locations where artisans could thrive and shoppers could discover handmade work in a welcoming setting.
Today, Castleberry Fairs & Festivals remains a family business, carrying forward the same values it was founded on more than three decades ago. We continue to produce some of the Northeast’s most respected juried handmade events, guided by experience, integrity, and a genuine love for craftsmanship.
At Castleberry, we don’t just host events —
we celebrate handmade.
